INTRODUCTION:

These are seminar notes. Feel free to read and make comments. If you find a gap or a blank in the reasoning, see if you can bridge it or fill it in.

Integration is the revolutionary new understanding and practice.

This practice is the integration of the self with the other, the one object with all the other objects, the one talent with all the other talents.

This practice integrates the poet with the musical composer, the mathematician with the poet and the scientist, the subjective reality with the objective reality, the children with their parents and their grandparents and the other persons in society.

A

How can this integration ever be? What exactly is this integration practice?

Integration is the revolutionary practice and understanding. Understanding integration is the starting point.

A traveling group of "edutainers" comes to your neighborhood and draws a following of parents and children who get the message and join the group of "edutainers." A new school is established in your town. This same process works in every community where at present families are being broken by socioeconomic pressures and present school agendas.

Appealing shows convey the integration message as words, music, and body movements are integrated. Words can be printed, published, and distributed. Songs can be recorded and distributed. So can videos. None of these media actually demonstrate integration. Integration is the totality, with no talent neglected or dismissed as unimportant. And so I come on strong with my songs and my wrongs as well as my rights. I am even invited to make more mistakes!

Integration is the way most little children come into the world and want to grow, with all the natural components of a good life: good food, plenty of family around, room to explore and romp, safety and musicality, arts, and crafts, and all the rest freely without angst. But in today's culture many children grow up feeling lost and anxious. Pressures are intense and diets often are poor. The key isn't understood. The door to understanding remains blocked.

B

I make no claim that any writing or speech I make is error free. One tune I play or sing is comparable to hundreds more. Other people's contributions are as worthy as mine. I am one flake in the snowstorm, and one star in the heavens. I am one leaf in the tree and one bee in the hive.

Such analogies are misleading, because each child is quite different. But each worker bee in a beehive is very much alike. Each leaf in one tree is very much like any other leaf. Humans are more complex than worker bees and leaves. Complexity is a modern study. Each child must be helped to show his or her complexity. The genius in a child manifests in his or her complexity. This is why we need to integrate with geniuses. We need to let geniuses help us be unafraid to discover, develop, and demonstrate our complexities, even if this baffles or frightens persons who haven't studied the new culture that is the society of peace.

Parents want their children to be happy and fulfilled. Society needs to have each genius child cared for and helped to develop. A society that mistreats geniuses blocks itself from growth. And what is growth? How does a creature grow? Every child can study growth and enjoy the general growth process. Creativity produces mental and emotional growth. Mistakes are expected.

C

As a rule this new society will start in or near major cities because as a rule (1) major cities draw the brightest minds, and (2) major cities have the most resources, and (3) major cities have the most persons who can benefit from integration. This is a society unlike any other. The brightest most creative persons are permitted to make mistakes. "Gods" or "geniuses" are not persons who never sin or err. Teachers needn't go around with long sticks and tongues like stinging whips. Not even mathematics need be intimidating.

The heart of this new culture is a clear understanding of integration. Teachers, parents, and children all feel this integration. It includes everyone and excludes no one. It lets each person be in solitude. It doesn't force one person to be like some "ideal" person who is revered or idolized. The whole point is helping each person themselves become an integrated self-realized person. These terms, however, are antiquated. Our wordiness itself is antiquated.

Songs, poems, articles, and speeches can introduce people to integration, but the integrated person lives and moves in the world, and the world is multidimensional. The intellect needs to understand the world is complex. This is a big subject, and in the world everything is happening at once. As you read, sing, or listen to a song, or talk, you are processing linearly one thing at a time. So to integrate you have to develop your nonlinearity and enjoy it. You also have to remain able to be linear, at least from time to time.

D

This article has been an introduction to integration. Integration includes the integration of your talents with mine, and the integration of our capacity to process information nonlinearly. We also need to be able to talk, and read, and write, and integrate our linear faculty with our nonlinear faculty.

This integration produces inspired work that helps people feel attuned.

If the total meaning of this article isn't 100% clear, please remember that you didn't learn to use English in fifteen minutes, so don't expect to understand integration just by reading this article.

You probably were born 100% integrated, but with all the emphasis on linearity in conversation and during all your school years, you didn't get much chance to practice nonlinearity! This is why it probably will take you a few years to become integrated.
