Welcome to Arcata, California, traditional starting point of the Kinetic Sculpture Race and the perennial home William McKinley cast in bronze and set right in the middle of the Plaza! Don't be shy. Come visit the late President William McKinley in person!
Now there's even more happening in Arcata. For example, Arcata where you can help make history being homeless!!! The fact is, more and more homeless people are coming to Arcata because they hear that something really good is happening here.
Here is even more good news! The more people who help Arcata make this good thing happen, the more good things will happen to people down the road. This goodness won't just help homeless people. That's because when more people are able to work, other people benefit as well as the workers. Right?
Arcata as a potential leader and innovator in creating a new ECOMODEL community that employs persons to gradually improve their personal condition as they learn on the job about helping themselves as they help other persons as well. This isn’t enslavement. This is the new ECOMODEL idea which goes beyond the current popular teaching where adults follow moralistic teaching learned in 12 years of stiff competitive schooling and they go out and compete for a plum job.
In the ECOMODEL culture, each person will have steady employment and varied job duties. These jobs will not be dull. Also each worker will be a Social Leader and a Teacher of the new culture. Arcata can be a world-class leader by introducing this culture.
As a non-exclusive culture, no exclusion of any race, class, or belief is appropriate for an ECOMODEL community. Furthermore, by the people's understanding of growth and mastery of growth, the many different social splinters and blocs will grow closer and closer together.
The people's cynicism and negativity is NOT the answer...not at any level or in any clique, church, business, or other social group. Neither is a person's lack of any degree or credential any grounds for dismissal or exclusion. Proven dedication and proven ability are what count in the ECOMODEL society.
Come visit Arcata and support Arcata as a seedbed for the new culture. And remember. Give a man a fish and you've fed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you've fed him for a lifetime, provided there are any fish left that are safe to eat.
